Description: Recent advances in wireless sensor networks have led to many new protocols specifically designed for sensor net- works where energy awareness is an essential consideration. Most of the attention, however, has been given to the routing protocols since they might di?er depending on the application and network architecture. This paper surveys recent routing protocols for sensor networks and presents a classification for the various approaches pursued. The three main categories explored in this paper are data-centric, hierarchical and location-based. Each routing protocol is de- scribed and discussed under the appropriate category. Moreover, protocols using contemporary methodologies such as network flow and quality of service modeling are also discussed. The paper concludes with open research issues. 2003 Elsevier B.V. [Industry researchThe_Communication_Protocol_for_WSN_about_LEACH_20

Description: Abstract This paper talk about the communication protocol named LEACH. The protocol focuses on reducing the power consumption of wireless sensor networks, which can have significant impact on the overall energy dissipation of these networks. LEACH uses localized coordination to enable scalability and obustness for dynamic networks, and incorporate data fusion into the routing protocol to reduce the amount of information that must be transmitted to the base station. Simulations show that LEACH can achieve as much as a factor of 8 reductions in energy dissipation compared with conventional routing protocols. In addition, LEACH is able to distribute energy dissipation evenly throughout the sensors, doubling the useful system lifetime for the networks we simulated.

Description: In wireless sensor networks, the power resource of each sensor node is limited. Minimizing energy dissipation and maximizing network lifetime are important issues in the design of routing protocols for sensor networks. In this paper, Cluster routing protocol LEACH (Low-Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy) is research and improved. We extend LEACH stochastic cluster-head selection algorithm via changing the round time According to the situation of sensor network. It is named Variable-round LEACH. The result simulated in NS2 shows that the energy is significantly reduced and the lifetime of the whole network is increased compared with the previous routing algorithm for the sensor networks.

Description: Advances in wireless sensor network (WSN) technology has provided the availability of small and low-cost sensor nodes with capability of sensing various types of physical and environmental conditions, data processing, and wireless communication. Variety of sensing capabilities results in profusion of application areas. However, the characteristics of wireless sensor networks require more effective methods for data forwarding and processing. In WSN, the sensor nodes have a limited transmission range, and their processing and storage capabilities as well as their energy resources are also limited. Routing protocols for wireless sensor networks are responsible for maintaining the routes in the network and have to ensure reliable multi-hop communication under these conditions. In this paper, we give a survey of routing protocols for Wireless Sensor Network and compare their strengths and limitations.

Description: Wireless Sensor Network is the network of power-limited sensing devices called sensors. Wireless sensor network is differ other networks in terms of optimization of amount of energy because when these sensors sense and transmit data to other sensors present in the network, considerable amount of energy is dissipated. Various routing algorithms are proposed to limit the powers used by the wireless sensors. Hierarchical routing protocols with the concept of clustering like LEACH and and DEEC are already best known for maintaining energy efficiency. In this submission, we will compare these two protocols.-Wireless Sensor Network is the network of power-limited sensing devices called sensors. Description: Routing protocols in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) emphasize on data dissemination, limited battery power and bandwidth constraints in order to facilitate efficient working of the network, thereby increasing the lifetime of the network. In this paper, the authors present an Energy Aware Multi-hop Multi-path Hierarchical routing protocol (EAMMH). EAMMH protocol organizes the sensor nodes into clusters and forms a multi-hop intra-cluster network. It establishes multiple paths each sensor node to the cluster head and provides an energy aware heuristic function to choose the optimal path.-Routing protocols in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) emphasize on data dissemination, limited battery power and bandwidth constraints in order to facilitate efficient working of the network, thereby increasing the lifetime of the network.
